Project: Kitchen, flooring, 3 bathroom renovation
This project involved a major overhaul of this couple’s 3 bed, 3 bathroom condo. The goal was to lighten up the kitchen and bathrooms to contrast the dark colours in the rest of the unit. This started with the flooring choice: we installed a white and grey veined 24” x 24” high gloss porcelain throughout most of the unit, including the entrance, kitchen, powder room, hallway and eating areas.
In the kitchen, the doors were kept simple: we used a shaker panel painted in a custom semi gloss white. This provided a contrast to the flat grey Caesarstone Concrete counters. The Carrara marble herringbone backsplash acted as the perfect bridge between the grey counters and white cabinets.
We used a unique 2” x 2” hexagon marble floor in the other 2 bathrooms to provide visual interest and contrast to the large amount of 24” x 24” tiles throughout the condo. The shower walls in both baths were done with the same 24” x 24” white and grey vein porcelain that was used for the flooring throughout the rest of the condo. This did a great job of tying everything together. The vanities were all done in a high gloss white.
Cool fact: The wall paint in most of this condo was flat charcoal. With the right lighting, materials, and textures, it really looks great. This condo has to be seen to really be appreciated.
